Cargostar/Models by Dave-UPDATE -2/25/15

Postby cargostar on Sun Jan 27, 2008 12:49 pm

Hi everyone. I'm sure if you have been following various threads on the forum you will know that I have started casting cabs and parts that are available to everyone. I have been model building since I can remember and have never been content to leave things stock. I have a soft spot for anything International, as I was brought up in a family that has owned several. My first foray at casting did not turn out so good, but with experience I have developed a decent product. At the moment, I have the Ward Lafrance cab, and the ALE Eagle Lightbar available. The WLF cab comes with;
Cab
Interior
Dash
Interior Side Panels(2)
Headlights(2)
Grill
Bumper
Step Wells(2)
Interior Door Handles(2)
Interior Window Handles(2)
Interior Door Pulls(2)
Roof Marker Lights(5)
As you can see in ChrisMooney's build, it will adapt to the AMT ALF series of trucks easily.

The lightbar is available with a choice of either clear or red tinted lenses, and a clear or tan base.

I have been building a stock of these items, so that I can ship within 3-5 business days. Larger orders may take an extra day or two for me to complete.
I am doing this tring to help out you the builder, so, if you have anycomments, questions, or suggestions, please let me know, and I'll see what I can do.
I will be posting pics this weekend of what I have, and will post here when I have new things available.
Thanks!
Dave

Sorry, the cabs are $50.00 ea plus $5.00 shipping. On more than one I will cover the shipping. The lightbars are $12.00 ea plus $1.50 shipping. I can accept MOs and Pay Pal. (with PayPal there is an Additional fee, sorry)
If anyone wants to do a mulit-item order, contact me and I will combine shipping.
Thanks
Dave

Dave,

Thanks for posting the resin info. I've done some casting myself and I found I didn't have time to do any other model building so I gave it up. I'm glad to see you can do both.

More Photos of Daves Ward cab..

These were taken wright from the box. Before any clean up. If you have worked with resin before you know the amount of flash and pin hole cleanup needed with some.... Well not with these. very very little cleanup needed. and the areas with clean up can be hidden when the model is built.. NICE WORK DAVE!!

With just the WLF and the ALF Eagle lightbar, well, you just read my catalog! Once I get a few more things available, I am going to get a web site going.

I have finally gotten ahold of Jbot decals. He is willing to add "Engine 51" marking to his Squad 51 decal set. I have already spoken for 12 sets. I will keep everyone posted as to when I have them in my hands!

Which seasons do you have? The ward only comes in in season 3, so seasons 1 & 2 have only the Crown. :D Hope this helps "the cause".

I "owned" season 1 ---loaned it to a friend to use as reference material in a fire dispatch coarse
and haven't seen it since. Looked at buying season three today but the price was a bit steep at
best buy for my taste... Sadly the the motto for fictional Oak Hill should be a broken shadow of a man staring into an empty wallet. I'll get'm someday or my name is whatever it is.

Well, as the saying goes, I have good news, and some not so good news. The not so good news first. Last week, as I was doing a final look over/fit of the Centurycab, I found several glaring discrepencies to the real thing. With Chris Mooneys' help I have figured out how to correct it, but I have to cut the cab apart to do it. So, Its going to be a while before Its available. Sorry guys

Now the good news. I now have a Ford C-Series canopy cab available! This is JUST A CAB. I did not worry about interior or any of the small cab related parts as the reissues of the AMT kits are readily available. It is based off of a reissue, so all of the stock windows and lights will fit. The cost is $25.00 ea. As before, shipping is $5.00 and I have them in stock ready to go!
