1950s Gumball Light

Postby jimb on Wed Oct 12, 2016 10:07 pm

I recently received a 1950s gumball light from a member on another board for an upcoming build. I believe the light might have come from the Revell 1957 Ford Custom Police Car or possibly the 1957 Ford Station Wagon kit. With the light was a very small decal of a red shield. I asked the guy who I got it from what it was, but he told me it was with the light when he got it from someone else. So much for that angle. Does anyone here have any idea what it might be? I'd take a picture of it, but it's so darn small that the camera won't focus on it.

Thanks.

The decal is likely the shield that was on the bases of the Federal Model 17 family of lights (17, 173, 174, 175, 176)

This is what it looked like on the light:

Thanks, Ed. That's the decal I was talking about. I had a feeling that it was something like that. Now, if I could only find a couple more. That decal isn't on the decal sheet of the latest issue of the Revell 1957 Ford Custom Police Car.
