New Seagrave sedan...

Postby larrymatt on Tue Oct 24, 2017 3:35 pm

Wondering if anyone has seen the announcement of the new Anniversary -series Seagrave Sedan models?

Stated it was in 1/25 and I assume 3-D printed? Done in several sections...

A far cry from the solid resin molds done by Mike Eisenbrenner way back when...

I remember the beautiful Youngstown F.D. rig Greg Smith built, and if I recall Charlie Rowley built one as well...

After much work, we have finally finished our 1/25 scale resin Seagrave Sedan Safety pumper kit. The kit is designed to use the AMT American LaFrance pumper kit to provide tires, wheels, and suspension parts.

From a company called Three Inches Under, located in Grove City, OH...

Was wrong... it is a resin kit. They have a facebook page with photos...

I actually built 3 Larry. The first one was River Edge Company 2 and it was featured in SAE in your column. I received a call from River Edge asking if I would build one for them which I did and as far as I know it is still on display in River Edge, NJ. The third one was a Detroit style rig based on photos taken from Matt Lee's books on Seagrave. All are Eisbrenner casting based models. Here are some pics. In the bottom photo the rig on the right went to River Edge. Detroit rig is #97. Fictional number; just the year in which the model was built!

Just to see what the kit consists of I checked it out. I think the back of the cab is too square and would need to have more of a slant to it. Matt Lee's book on the Anniversary Series Seagraves has some great photos for comparison.
One sedan Seagrave I have thought about doing is the first one with the sweetheart grill (1936-7?). That would be so cool!
