Daughter made Haz-Tac training

Postby FDNYDad on Sat Jan 19, 2013 8:28 pm

Talked to the daughter today and she has been notified that the FDNY will be conducting Haz-Tac training at Randall's Island and she has been accepted. She starts Feb 4th and the course runs for 2 weeks. Since she is already a Paramedic, she would be assigned to an ALS (Advance Life Support) Haz-Tac unit. She told me that there are only 2 ALS Haz-Tac trucks in Manhattan - Harlem, which I think is Station 16 and Bellevue which I think is Station 8. Of course, since she's low seniority, she could be re-assigned to a Haz-Tac unit in another borough.

No more pay and a lot more responsibility but, she wants to get into Rescue and you can't even apply unless you're Haz-Tac certified! ;) You go girl!

Hey Guys! My daughter graduated from Haz-Tac! And, she was Class Valedictorian! They gave her the "Order Of The Brush" which was nothing more than a wooden scrub brush with the "Order of the Brush" written in magic marker!    They made a big deal out of it so that was cool. She said she would send me some pictures.

She's "A" Platoon so she's back to work tomorrow at her old Station until she gets assigned to a Zebra (Haz-Tac) unit. Man, I'm about ready to bust my buttons!

Stars at night. You see them due to the light traveling from them. What you see is the stars past. If you are seeing a star that's 6,000 yrs ago. Imagine somebody on that star looking at us. They'd be seeing us as 6,000 yrs ago. Which of those two is now?
