Well, I've been thinking a lot on this. Here is my idea. I'm combining the AMT Ford C Tractor trailer, Dave's C cab, the AMT ALF pumper (just the front axle, gonna make the rest to a 4X4 for my airport), and the AMT ALF Ladder Chief (I'll turn whats left into a heavy squad).
What do you think? Might work.... As a caregiver (and my mom is getting worse) I hope I can get it done in time.

Progress has been very slow on my tiller, but here is an update.

Last night, I got the ball race built. It still needs to be detailed a bit before I attach it to the frame.

Looking good Paul.
Is your truck going to be white, or are you waiting to do your color coats at a later time?
Sincerely,

David

I'll throw my tiller build in on this. I'm building Seattle's 1969 Kenworth tiller, Truck #1. I have the tractor done, but will be replacing the wide kit supplied nose with a resin narrow nose, so it looks prototypical. I'm also using the ALF ladder with another fly added to the ladder to bring it out to 100ft. The trailer is in the building process right now.

It's finally finished except for a few minor details, and a new narrow nose hood whenever I get time to do it. I ended up making a new turntable and lift mechanism for the ladder from styrene. I used the lift cylinders and a few minor parts from the ALF kit, but made the rest from scratch. I"m sure as I find more reference on the actual truck, I may end up changing stuff, but for now it's pretty close according to the 3 foot rule. I have more images of the truck in my photo bucket album. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Heres a couple of pics that were just sent to me. The tiller cab is in Buffalo, NY's fire museum. It is set up to be interactive with the screen in front, so you can "tiller" the truck down the road. Thats a friend of mine from the TFD in the second pic. Hopefully these will help some of you out.

I had heard there use to be a "game" exactly like this in OC MD, but was not there the first time I went in '92.

Its been a while since I last posted anything here, but I'm still working on it for the contest. I'm waiting on some stuff from Tiny and some parts are drying outside. Here is just one pic. I'll post more after the contest. And also tell me if you like the lightbar or go with a whelen strobe or just the old single rotators? Thanks
