Cadet Series USS Enterprise

Postby jimb on Thu Feb 12, 2015 5:02 pm

Recently I finished my 1/2500 Cadet Sereis USS Enterprise NCC-1701. Other than the horrendus seams, it was a pretty nice little kit. Here are all the parts layed out(saucer section assembled, secondary/engineering hull assembled, & warp nacells assembled):

Just to give you a sense of the size of the kit, kere is ship sitting on a clothes pin:

And now, the finished ship:

Hope you like it. I'll probably start the Enterprise-A shortly.

Nice. I do know how small this one is, I have the Chrome plated set
TOS, Movie Refit/A & Next Gen D. The 2 Kirk ships in that set are Tiny
Too bad they have Mixed the sets not
I need the original issue B, C E in that series
But they are not TOS, Refit, B set 1 and C, D, E set 2!!!!

I also need to compare one to the "Enterprise Incident" set Ship
That is Another Tiny one. And it is designed for Lights!!!!!
The Engine pylon piece has grooves cast in-place for the wires
you putty over after placing the bulb in the Warp Nacelle!

As a Trekki fan and having built the NX-01 and NCC-1701-D, I appreciate the efforts of others building Enterprise models.

Cheers from Robbo.
If it's not broken, then don't try to fix it. If it is broken then only one tool and aids are required: A hammer if it's tight and Blu-Tack if it's loose.

It was a fun little build (except for the seam work). Interesting information on the lighted Enterprise. Bet it's cool looking when it's done. Must be a real pain to replace the bulb it you need to.

I have all of the Cadet Series (non-chromed) ships. One box has TOS, Refit/A, & B; and the C, D, & E are all in there own boxes (they're a little bigger  ).

Have you checked out The Delta Quadrant ( http://the-delta-quadrant.com/ ) Eric has some really cool resin ships in 1/2500. He also told me that Federation Models ( http://federationmodels.com/ ) has the reboot Enterprise in 1/2500.

I need a better camera to take pictures of the "Enterprise Incident"
kit built and Lit.
I can take a few without lighting it up, but, Needing dark to
have the light effects to show up is the problem.
My camera will NOT show the fiber-optics in the ships or stars
to any good degree.

I need a way to record the sound effects too.
There are Phaser. Red alert, and Vocal effects included.

I have 2 of that kit Unbuilt too!

I just wish when they re-issued the 'Cadet" series and added that name,
they left the sets in the combinations they were in orginally
That way I would Not need to get 2 sets to fill the collection of
Enterprise ships.

I know they added a DS9 set to the series, Will they add Voyager & Enterprise??
Though Monogram had the Voyager license.

Revell-Of-Germany has the JJ Abrams Enterprise in Plastic kit form
I can't afford Resin kits.
The NX01 I got was CHEAP, but being solid castings, I can't add lights to it
the way I want to.

The second TOS 3 ship set I have is started, and I have lights going in them
based on those in the "Enterprise Incident" kit.
Though, I have No idea on where to place them in the Romulan Warbird!!
I need to find pictures of that ship showing it lit.
The ships of this set are larger than the 'Enterprise Incident' and
Cadet series, though, No scale was given.
