Everyone,

I am going to have this list closed when I hit the 1500 mark since the point has been made and Lindburgh "picked up the ball" after Testors fumbled on producing a plastic kit of a police Charger.

Only 46 more to go......

eastern adams regional is down a charger. not sure if they have any more than this one, and I'm not sure about the condition of the officer involved. The report is that he was pursuing a car at high speeds when he rear-ended a tractor trailer, and witnesses said he was unresponsive after extrication.

Ummm......not sure what this about I'm trying to catch up but I know that Utah Highway Patrol has Dodge Chargers in there fleet. I don't know if your counting just states or city police too, but Cedar City Utah has a couple, Kanab Utah has some to.

Holy crap that is not a sight to see of an emergency vehicle. Hope the officer is ok.

Here is another on Jeff, Leary,Ga. I think the Charger is almost as big as the town.

also an update on the officer involved in the crash I posted about earlier- they are looking into neurorehabilitation facilities, and he's in therapy and whatnot, but apparently is doing a lot better, but has a long way to go, too. The thing the doctors are most concerned about is the head trauma he suffered, and whatever lasting effects there might be from that.

Thanks for the pic of our Charger. Just last week we took delivery of our fifth. Our entire front-line fleet is now Chargers. The only exceptions are our 4x4 Expedition and the yet-to-be-delivered Harley-Davidson ElectraGlide. We run 2 '07's (a marked and an unmarked), an '08 (marked), and '09 (marked) and my new ride, the '10 (marked), all v8 Hemis. Great cars, but they do have their shortcomings. I'm hoping next year to see if we can try out one of the new '11 Caprices instead of buying one of the re-styled '11 Chargers. Not too optomistic though... boss is a die-hard Charger fan.

Before retiring from Chrysler, I got the opportunity to drive a couple of Dodge Chargers and Magnums at the Chelsea MI Proving Ground. On the 5 mile high speed oval, I ran a 3.5L Charger to a top speed of 128 mph, while the 5.7L Hemi hit 142 mph. The Magnums were a tick slower at 123 mph for the 3.5L and 136 for the Hemi.

The amazing thing about driving these cars on a track like that is that you lose all concept of speed, except that you know that faster you are going, the higher the car will track on the oval's banked curves. The track has 4 marked lanes, plus a shoulder and even at 140, the cars follow the middle of the third lane. With your foot to the floor, you can literally take your hands off the wheel and the car will follow the lane all the way around the turn. What a rush! Driving home on I-94 seemed like I was creeping along at 75!

By the way, I also took one of those NASCAR type driving schools out at Michigan International Speedway a few years before that and found that to be a real thrill for the senses as well. You can't believe how fast each turn comes and how short those straightaways are at 155 mph. Those NASCAR boys earn their money every weekend.

alrighty, the other day I was driving to Philly doing a long-distance run for work and saw a PSP charger sitting at one of the barracks on the PA turnpike. Looked pretty sharp, unfortunately I couldn't get a pic

Correction in Maryland.
It is Wicomico County
One word. Pronounced WHY-Com-I-Co Not WeeCo-MeeCo
The First Sylibal is accented only

Very interwesting hearing the Commercials on TV for a Monster truck show, or this month's Ringling
Brother's Circus coming to the WeeCo-MeeCo Civic center in Salisbury.

Thanks for this list.

I've got another update on the officer involved in the crash from a couple posts ago. He's now back home and doing well after extensive rehab, and still some more rehab ahead, but is doing much better. Is able to walk, and regained total sight in his right eye, which had been nearly lost.
Here's a link to a photo gallery from his homecoming:

Good to hear that the officer is doing good. I know it's late since Lindberg picked up the kit but for refference on the extensive listing of departments Oklahoma Highway Patrol has a number of chargers in the fleet now too.

A friend told me Maryland Did Not Like them.
All were moved to the Aviation devision. (Medivac Helicopters, etc)
Also they were solid black not the army green/black of the current Crown-Vic's
