I got one of an Actual Black & White yesterday
If I can upload it to Photobucket I will post it here.
And Yes it IS a Local are unit
I know of 3 departments going Black&White

I am curious about the device on the hood of that Expedition though
Since it is facing the windshield, I believe it to be some type of Monitor. But, am not sure what for.

That's the FLIR unit....it faces that way in the photo for aerodynamics but when unit is being used it turns around so that the sensors face forward or which ever way the deputy wants it to....hope that helps things ....Gary

Thanks for the info.
I did not know anyone used Ground based "Forward-Looking-InfraRed" cameras.
Most are on Helicopters aren't they??

I take it this unit travels through wood/brush areas looking for Wanted/runaways/escapees??
