Oh my God, that Chevy brings back memories. Used to work for Polk Co. EMS in central Fl, started service in about 1974 with that style box in International chassis. Later the boxes were moved to Chevy and Ford chassis. Heck of a drive with those single rear wheels. Had the five beacons on the box roof, too, fried many an alternator hitting the master switch with all those light switches in the on position. Those were the days...

I remember the old Modulances well. leave the batteries on for 30 minutes with the truck shut off and you better have jumper cables.

That old Chevy in the seccond photo looks a lot like an old ambulance my mom use to ride on when she was an EMT.
I really like the Spirit of 76 paint job on it. Mabe I out to try and find a kit for buiding one.

More like an 80's flashback, but seemed to fit within this thread. Adams was the private service in my hometown of Downey, California (Los Angeles County). Always loved their rigs, with mag wheels and a "Q" on the roof. Heck, even the Downey Fire Department didn't even have "Q's" on their engines. I built a model at one time of the above pictured rig, using an AMT A-Team van. Need to find the pics and post 'em up...

I was just going to say the A-Team van would be perfect for that Ambo even down to the Mags that are in the kit....
