NNL-East, April 21st, Wayne NJ

Postby MMFAAFireModel on Wed Feb 29, 2012 7:22 pm

A new work schedule will be going into effect soon that looks like it will permit me to make the trip down to NJ on the weekend of April 20-22 to go this year. Looking forward to seeing everyone again after missing it last year.

For those of you who do not know what NNL-East is, it is the largest non-competitive model display on the east coast and cottage industry exposition and scale marketplace with space for 100 vendors. It draws modelers from considerable distances to the north, south & west. It's the place to be to meet face to face with modeling friends, make new ones, and see some incredible models up close and talk to the builders about them.

For more information and to see photos from prior shows, visit http://www.nnleast.com.

Hope to see you there.

I'm looking forward to making the trip. Will be good to see you again, Ed. I spoke to Jim Clarkson recently and he may be coming as well. I got him primed up about all of the cottage industry stuff that he could use in his scratch building.

It wll be good to see Jim again. It's probably been 5 or 6 years since my last trip to the Baltimore Expo

Hi Guys,
I am sorry to say that I will not be in attendance this year. My wife was involved in a serious accident last weekend. We are very fortunate, and she is on the mend. Unfortunately, she will be out of work for at least a month... Soooooo, that means I will be working more OT than usual. I had to pick up Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights at my flight job. Please take lots of pictures! Have a great time! Miss you guys!

Well it's back to the routine after a great time at NNL East. Got to see Dave, Mark, Chris, Zoli and Ed. Zoli's homies were up to their old tricks trying to make me think the '59 Dodge was leaking oil! :D
Anyone know who won the Cavorley award? I never heard the announcement.

I also attended this year and had a great time. It was nice to see everone that made it. I took plenty of photos for those that missed it. Just follow the link below.

FYI, Craig Godfrey won the Joe Cavorley Award with his "Into The Wild" Bus diorama. You can go to the NNL East web site to see all the winners.

Thanks Steve for the great photos, looks like a great show. A lot of talent there, would have been interesting to do a survey on the age of the participants. :o

Stars at night. You see them due to the light traveling from them. What you see is the stars past. If you are seeing a star that's 6,000 yrs ago. Imagine somebody on that star looking at us. They'd be seeing us as 6,000 yrs ago. Which of those two is now?
