have not heard a word about it. The last couple of years it has not been worth the 8 hour drive just to get there for a very short display time.

Got an e-mail today from the Chesapeake Model Fire Engineers that due to logistical reasons, there will be no model display this year.

Although I enjoyed attending the Expo for many years (Last one was 2008), I don't think I'll be going to any more as it's just too far. It used to be a 3 1/2 hour ride from northern NJ, but it's over 6 hours from Rochester NY.

It is a shame this won't be happening this year, but it just seems like the powers-that-be that run the Expo are keeping up their efforts to squeeze out the buffs. First the parade, then the flea market, and now the model show. Hopefully they will realize the errors of their ways... In the meantime, all of the Chesapeake Modelers...and anyone else in the northeast...is welcome to display at the Silver City Fire Fest in Meriden, CT next weekend.
