Virus warning

Postby Aaronw on Thu Mar 15, 2012 3:22 am

Just a heads up, my AVG anti-virus and Malwarebytes have been going nuts when I log into the site. I've found that just because the anti-virus programs are grumbling, it does not always mean there is really a problem, but until Chris can confirm the site is clean, you guys may want to make sure your protection is up to date.

AVG was saying the site had a Black Hole Exploit kit whatever that is, malwarebytes just says it blocked a potentially dangerous program, but doesn't name it.

My Avast also states Malware blocked as I come here.

I only get the error codes on log-in through Firefox, but as
soon as I open the page in Max3!!

I couldn't get in until today. Still has a weird error message at the top of the site until the Index comes on. Index is really big though. Rest of pages are normal.

Didn't fix it. Just deleted the site. The errors on the forum are seperate and are just something in the background not working.

I can't stay logged in either. Plus I lost my admin rights to kill off the spammers. I can get to the admin logon screen, but can't get in. I can still delete their moderated posts so you won't see them, but the spammers are starting to pile up and I can't ban them like I did. About 2 dozen between the time of the problem and now that I can't kill off.

I vote for eliminating spammers from the planet. When we find one we hang them, then shoot the remains, draw and quarter what's left and feed the pieces to jackals. After we do that to the first 10 or so that we find, the rest may stop. Or if not, we keep hanging, shooting and feeding.

Yes, Still get the lines of error code on the Front/Index page of the Forum.
I don't have to log in with every move through the different threads though.

Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

I could not get to the Index page, Even from inside the forum, Yesterday.

I used links from email notices to get into the specific messages/threads, but could
not get to the front page of the forum. I got "Cannot connect to website errors"
With Maxthon3 browser, and a Blocked url/page with Firefox.
I could navigate within the segment of the forum, but hitting "Index, I lost contact.

Whatever spammer hacked into the site and changed the administrative control panel access is really getting on my nerves. All these other spammer scumbags are starting to pile up like a festering pile of rotting feces that they are and I can't do anything about it but delete any posts they try to put through. Thank goodness Chris put new members first posts in moderation so they can be deleted before you see any of them. They are killing this site like they've killed the previous versions.

Please Chris, whatever you can do to get back the admin controls...
