New Rule For Parts Bin - Please Read!

Postby Chris on Wed Feb 27, 2008 11:54 am

From now on, you must have 25 posts before starting a topic in the Parts Bin. This is to keep people from registering for no there reason than to post here and screw folks over. While as far as I know no one from here has been scammed, there was someone that joined, posted one thread here with items for sale that is facing charges for fraud. So if someone posts something without having the required 25 posts, it will be removed.

Excellent call Chris. It's too bad it's necessary, but you have to protect the members here.

Was it Gary Parrot? I know he's in huge trouble over on FireEngines.net.

Good idea for the swap and sell section Chris. We also had to institute the same rules at the Truckstop to keep people from joining just to sell their trucks and wares. It's done wonders too!

I'm sorry, but I can't agree with this idea. I'm not a talkative person here, I have been a member for a LONG time and just a few minutes ago, posted my FIRST new thread....Now what do I have to do, post 23 more inane pointless messages just so I could post a message for somethimg I'm looking for?

I kind of am half a mind to do just that to show how silly this rule is.

Steve, if I know someone is legit then I may make exception to the rule. Just shoot me a PM and let me know. There are a lot of folks though that automatically sign up on forums all over the internet for the sole purpose of spamming and such. Just by having the link to a website in their profile gets them a higher ranking on search engines. Some even slip in real nasty pics. You can ask Mooney or Aaron the amount of accounts that have been deleted in the past. My main goal is to try and make sure none of the legit members get done wrong. I understand that some may not post much, but if you have a better idea, please let me know. The only other means I can think of is making it a closed section except for those that have asked to use it.

One thing, if you are posting looking for something that may be considered different than posting selling.

Well, you say you've been a member for a LONG time, looks like to me you joined on 2/7/08, that's not been a LONG time in my book. The point of the topic was for people SELLING ITEMS, not LOOKING FOR ITEMS. It's an excellent idea Chris, spammer's and scammer's are everywhere, :D

That's the date I joined the NEW version of the board. At that time, since I own the 1:1 scale first American LaFrance Quad delivered, to Franklin, Ohio, I changed my username.

Then we are going to have to become good friends. That's my goal here anyway. Any chance you could get copies of those pics so I can add them to my collection about my rig.

FireEngines.net has had a problem with somone on there pulling scams. As I understand, naile a few people or some bucks. They ended up getting the PD involved.

I am new to this forum and have read the new rule to this forum. I am not a very talkative person either and do to my job I don't get to visit very often, maybe once a month. My question tho is, do I have to have the reguired 25 post before I can start a new post? I am trying to see if anyone has a amt/ertl pumper body that they are willing to part with?

Hi Chris! As you know I am new here and am fine with the 25 post rule for selling. Honestly I am interested in buying and not selling. Is it still okay to post threads to try and acquire items. I have bought and sold many items on Ebay and Rebelscum.com, a Star Wars collectors site, and can provide links to my feedback if needed.
