1/25-1/24 NYPD waterslide Decal

Postby Jail Bird on Sat Mar 08, 2014 7:42 pm

Hi guys I'm new here so I hope this is appropriate. I am looking for a set of cica 1970's NYPD (Blue & White) cruiser decals that I would like to use on an AMT 1:25 1970 Ford Galaxie Interceptor. Pursuit Plastics made some at one time but I am guessing they are out of production. Any help here would be great...

Thanx

Try over at Police Car Models ( http://www.policecarmodels.com/ ). He has all sorts of cruiser decals, and should have the NYPD decals that you are looking for.

You might want to check over at http://diecastpolicecar.poliskarr.org/ They are an international group which includes many who collect and/or make their own decals. Let me know how you make out.

All I can think of are the old Yodel models that might have the NYPD decals in them. Would the 70 Ford still have the old green, black and white scheme from the JoHan PD car?

The 1970 Fords used by NYPD was green/black/white. The blue and white cars started in 1973 and were Plymouths pretty much for the entire rest of the 70s except for 1976 (Pontiac LeMans & Catalinas)

There is a seller on eBay who sell the correct green decals. He also sells the decals for the blue cars, too. The link below is to all the NYPD he currently has on auction. I have purchased his decals before and they are pretty good, but not commercial quality.

I thought they were still in the 60's logos. You can use the JoHan decals for that, which I was going to do years ago
There is a set of pursuit decals for the older logos available from here:
